Why we built the Pioneer

Players kept telling us they wanted a guitar that felt at home on the road, at home, in the studio or on stage, yet cost less than a full-sized Furch and still retained the all-solid wood construction and impressive tone our larger guitars are known for. The Pioneer is our answer. Every model carries the same signature innovations you find in our highest lines: an individually voiced top soundboard for maximum response, the CNR System® Active neck construction that automatically compensates for humidity changes and lets you fine-tune action with a single screw, a resonance-enhancing finish that lets the wood breathe and ring, and the Booster Soundport in the side, giving you that extra volume and body resonance. All of this in a short 615 mm (24 3/16″) scale, 14-fret body that slips easily into overhead bins or the back seat.

A proven design, simplified

We started with Little Jane’s beloved body shape and bracing. Then we added a soft cutaway so your fingers reach the 15th fret and beyond with ease. By removing the folding mechanism, we eliminated specialized parts, simplified production, and lowered the price — while keeping the projection, balance, and comfort that made Little Jane famous.

Big sound with a small footprint, Playability that travels well

Our research showed that a carefully tuned side port reduces internal air pressure, freeing the top to vibrate more. You’ll hear it the moment you strum: punchier lows, sweeter mids, crisper highs, and a surprising volume that belies the body size. According to our R&D engineer Pavel Hoffmann, “It feels like you’ve set a stage monitor right on your lap.”

Humidity on the coast? Dry mountain air? The CNR System® Active neck joint flexes just enough to keep your action stable. Need a tiny tweak? A quick turn of the integrated adjustment screw gets you there, no shop visit required.
